Work in Ireland: some steps to follow

Ireland is regularly cited as one of the most open markets in the world and rates highly in globalisation indexes. That’s why Ireland has become one of the most desirable places to look for a job in the last years.

As an EU citizen you can take up employment or self-employment without an employment permit, you just need to follow some simple rules:

-          If you are employed or self-employed you are permitted to stay for longer than 3 months;

-          You should register for tax and social insurance, applying for a Personal Public Service (PPS) Number;

-          You are entitled to health service after passing a test to get a medical card.
